Built-in Character: Stained Glass

There are a few really exciting pieces of character inside Norris House, including some built-in stained glass that's a bit different.  Take a peek:

It may look fairly standard (and let's be honest - filthy) at first glance, but on closer inspection those little oval pieces that form a garland fanning out from the shield aren't flat glass - they're three dimensional and rough in texture.  The little flowers are flat, but those surrounding pieces are like little rocks worked in to the panel.  

We're trying to track down some reliable information regarding how old this piece is, and what the deal is with those little rocks.  We're not sure if it's original, or was an addition during one of the additions/renovations to Norris House.  In the meantime, we're carefully working around it  during restoration.
