Not Quite A Painted Lady, But Beautiful All the Same

When you're working on improving your space, nothing delivers the same combination of wow factor and instant gratification as a coat of fresh paint.  It really makes a huge difference.  Norris House is beginning to get her siding and trim paint in place, and the results are stunning.  Take a peek:

It was a fairly overcast day when this photo was taken, but the paint looks good even on the brightest day!

We selected Sherwin Williams products for the exterior paint.  That's SW Morning Fog for the siding and SW Extra White for the trim.  We're not finished, but the windows will be SW Tricorn Black.  You can see the first floor bay window at the far right is painted while the rest are ready for some paint.  There's also a hint of our haint blue porch ceiling - more on that coming soon because it definitely deserves some close-up shots!

In our estimation, Norris House will not be a true painted lady.  That term refers to Victorians with contrast painting in three or more colors, and those colors are usually quite vibrant.  We don't think our muted combination of soft gray, black and white qualifies for the moniker.  We do have a Second Empire style painted lady three doors down - the Heck-Andrews House - so we'll admire her paint from our new porch to get our painted lady fix!
